I settled on Blu-Ray
I finally broke down and bought a Sony PS3 in order to get the blu-ray movie-playing capability. I had been debating for awhile between Blu-Ray and HDDVD, but finally decided to gamble on Blu-Ray. My rationale for buying the PS3 was two-fold: one, it is upgradable through its built-in wireless (probably the only Profile 1.0 player that is upgradeable to 1.1 and hopefully 2.0) and two, selling this player in a few years will be much easier when the next generation high-def DVD players come out. Hopefully by then, the two formats will have merged…or at least you will be able to get more choices of high-end dual-format players.
